Interstitial Ads

interstitial are ads that appear when the user accesses the website, thus losing all the interactivity with the web until the user closes the ad, thus increasing the chances of success.

Is usually combined with popunder, so that when the user closes, we see an ad behind the website.

The announcement comes at a size of 800×600, giving the possibility to put a website as an advertisement.

Floating Ads

Our publishers have a new ad system, called floating, he can put a notice on its website that the client always sees while on the website of the publisher. The publisher can choose from four positions, left, right, bottom center, and finally animated.

The first three positions are fixed in the browser, so if the user uses scroll is not moved from its position. The fourth uses the jQuery easing plugin to track the user vertically, while from scrolling.

Among the options you can choose the publisher, is to put a close button or not, or put an offset, which can change the position of the banners to avoid clogging creatives to stay behind.

Brief introduction to the engineering of our ads.

Yesterday we published three new types of ads: the Floating ads, popunder ads, and Interstitial ads, giving new opportunities to display ads for our publishers. All our ads have jQuery core, together with plugins needed for each one of them. Surely you will wonder why we use jQuery is a library really heavy for the kind of resources we should use it, however we realized that many of the websites make use of it regularly to manage their javascripts, so we have set an intelligent system that detects if the publisher’s website already has and rule out the need to download it again, and on the other hand, we also detected if the website already has the plugins we use to unnecessary downloads. Our system script sctructure is very similar to the MVC approach, on the one hand we have jQuery plugins and libraries the other a javascript called loader, which is the load intelligently detects whether or not the libraries, and finally scripts that prepare the client configuration, reflecting the parameters of the script and get added to the configuration of each plugin. So the structure of operation is as follows:

1 – The website runs the script added by the publisher.
2 – The loader loads the first script, other scripts added simply fill out an execution queue.
3 – When loader is loaded, it takes care of loading the jquery plugin to pick up and param getter.
4 – Finally, the loader reads the entire list of pending execution and includes the scripts along with the necessary libraries.
5 – The configuration and execution scripts are executed.

Thus, our script optimizes the download scripts and does nothing until we have the necessary scripts.
